We’re proud to share that Kingsway Townhouses, our three-home development in Nedlands, has won the Boutique Development category at the 2026 UDIA WA Awards for Excellence.
It’s an award that says a lot about how we like to build. The Kingsway Street site was zoned for a lot more than three homes, but we didn’t chase the bigger number. Instead, we built three larger townhomes with private lifts, shaped around what Nedlands buyers wanted. Every home sold off the plan, at a price that set a new suburb record for townhouse sales, proof that getting the product right beats maximising density.
A team effort, built to last
Known internally through its concept phase as “Under the Gumtree,” Kingsway Townhouses was designed by Andrew Tang-Smith, Registered Architect at Studio Tangara, with interiors by Senior Designer Carissa Araminta. Sustainability was baked in from day one, with solar, energy-efficient glazing, EV charging and water-wise landscaping across all three homes.
Forge developed and managed the project ourselves, working alongside Create Homes as builder and Ray White on sales, right through to a record-setting settlement.
Why this one means a lot
The UDIA WA Awards are judged by people in the industry, which makes this one hit a bit different. It’s recognition of something we try to get right on every project: the best outcome isn’t always the biggest one, it’s the one that fits the site, the market and the people who’ll live there.
“This award means a lot because it recognises a decision, not just a building. The site allowed for more density, and we deliberately didn’t take it, we built three homes instead of chasing a bigger number. Selling every home off the plan and setting a suburb record tells us buyers valued that decision as much as the judges did.”
